Description
Gram flour can be made by grounding either raw or roasted gram beans. The roasted variety has a delicious flavour, while the raw variety has a slightly bitter taste. It is mixed with water or yoghurt to form a paste, which is used as a facial exfoliant, especially in India.
In fact it can be a suitable replacement for eggs in vegan cooking, when mixed with equal amounts of water. Besan is enriched with carbohydrates and protein and is gluten free. Moreover, it is used to make various delicacies in different regions of India namely Sev, Bhajjis, Bonda, Boondi, Chila, Dhokla, Kadhi, Mysore Pak and many such recipes.
